Levia was silently very emotional in midnight sun , Erwin was always stoic for the world he lived in, for his men I don't think we would expect to see other emotion between these two characters rather the silence struggles already speak loudly of how close they are,and what the experience along the way made shape of their relationships,we don't learn some things because isayama intended to make it seem as black and white as possible to indoctrinate the audience into thinking that way .till s4 Armin ,Sasha , Levi had battle driven peaks in s3 not all peaks are going to be development. Edit also magath ain't black he is probably Italian so mixture of white and Middle Eastern and maybe black , Marleins can be of any color but isayama also said he also based them off the Romans versus the Celtics.

The show could have done a better job developing the characters in earlier seasons, but I still think some of your earlier (plot-related) criticism can easily be addressed by rewatching some dialogue and scenes that you talked over or forgot, or waiting for the answers to come, instead of quickly concluding that the plot "makes no sense".

I do take issue with the clunky way the propaganda element is used at the end of season 3, I still do, and you trying to tell how I felt and why rings pretty hollow. This feels like justification after the fact. The main points that you made at the time of watching the final episodes in season 3 still rings true in this season. Even more-so in these 2 episodes in season 4. The only difference now is that this season touched you emotionally in a way that end of season 3 didn't. Which is fine, but that implies that the issue wasn't "Nazi Propaganda". And I'm not saying that now you guys enjoy Nazi propaganda. I'm saying now you guys are open and engaged in seeing how the show progresses. You being turned off with the show wasn't because of "Nazi" shit. It was because you emotionally didn't click with the show at the end of season 3. Justification after the fact. People in general can find the worst in anything with a negative mindset, and the best in anything with a positive mindset. More than anything, people can be pleasantly surprised when having an open mindset. Please continue to have at least an open mindset.
