When the ships use thrust they generate artificial gravity. I haven't read the books yet, but anytime they're travelling in a straight line for weeks on end to get from point A to point B, they have some amount of Gs pushing down on them. I don't think the ISS has any gravity.

Not sure if it's been said, but the aspect ratio changes between known space/planets (full) and the new world (wider).
