About the train thing, remember May and Dr. Marcoh take the east train from central and then go north? So that General Grumman see Shao May in East Station and then tell Roy and makes Ed and Al go north.

Aside from Leto ine Liore, though, Amestris does not seem to have a particular religion. On the other hand, like LOTR and WOT, you do not have to have organized worship of an entity one can call God for that entity to exist within the metaphysics of the world the story exists in.
