I love this arc. It’s the first one that presents problems, starting with Nami’s sickness, that Luffy can’t solve by punching them.

The anime actually censors a few things, so I DO recommend the manga to get the story as its meant to be told, but the anime is also worth watching.

If you really want to read the manga, you can subscribe to the digital Shonen Jump for like $3/month. Know due to an early translation error that Zoro is translated as Zolo in the official Viz translation. The box sets of the physical books go for ~$100 there are currently 4 box sets that take you to volume 90 of the manga. Of course the manga is at volume 107, so the box sets don't quite get you up to date but it will get you most of the way and its cheaper than buying all of them individually. but the Shonen Jump digital subscription is the cheapest and easiest if you just want to read it. Plus you get access to all sorts of other fantastic manga.

Luffy promised Genzo he wouldn't take Nami's smile away. That's why he's trying to make her laugh by drawing on his face and doing silly things.
