Regarding his prose, that's pretty much the most common criticism of Sanderson's books. He uses very clear and simple language in his writing (I believe I've heard him refer to it as 'workman-like' prose).
Some people really dislike this about his works, which is an entirely valid take, but it's also helped him reach a much wider audience that includes more casual readers and people for whom English isn't their main language. There's a very low barrier to entry for his books, and that combined with his somewhat insane output (helped massively by the fact that he's successful enough to employ a team of editors and other support staff) have pretty much turned his series into a juggernaut of modern fantasy.

Woo! So glad you guys have enjoyed this book so much! I've been lurking around the channel since the WoT season 1 reactions and wanted to show my appreciation for the last couple of years.
I've really enjoyed the highs and lows of book club, the hot takes and the arguments over the minutiae of the series (two letters!) - I always look forward to book club and am glad you've found another series you can enjoy with all of us. ❤
