It’s not really highlighted in the story going forward, and there’s a bit more to it, but remember than vegetation doesn’t naturally appear in the sky unless it gets brought up by the Knock Up Stream. Pumpkins are native to Jaya, so it’s essentially a misguided effort by Gan Fall to bond over the land whereas Wiper is taking it as a rub in their face. Yeah, it’s hard to find a direct one to one to this story, but there’s a lot of parallels in history about this all over the world. The concept of modern reparations is a tricky one to play out. Very curious how the live action will handle this and how much they’ll actually try to breach this topic given certain sensitivities with folks.

2024-05-19 04:32:01 +0000 UTCjust a thing here that the straw hats do not have a horse in this race, at this point all we want is gold, not god or land, it is not like with Vivi here they are not risking their lives for people they don't care about, and as established when meeting Usopp for the first time they won't do that out of sympathy or petty, they really need to care for someone to fight for them and so far that person does not exist, almost everybody on this island is trying to kill them, I don't see them getting directly involved here
