Regarding the question if Moldaver is in some faction - through half of the episode you can see that the entire base is covered in NCR flags, the soldiers wave NCR flag during the battle, and people from shady sands (which was capital of NCR and the place where Moldaver used to live in) worshiped Moldaver - i think its pretty clear from which faction she comes from :) Also, cryo is not exclusive to vault 31. Moldaver created infinite energy. It is not explicitly stated, but it's a safe assumption she managed to use cryo as well, either buying it, or maybe even built one for herself (or maybe she just worked for vault tech for a while, because she knew what was coming) - she is pretty smart after all. Also, i dont think its that importat, maybe we will learn something different in s2, but the cryo assumption is a pretty safe bet for now. Regarding the comment about war - the way i interpret this season is - people are not capable of working together, of living in a unity, one big society. There are always factions. Everyone has their idea what the ideal society is, how to save the world etc. It's a never ending cycle that always ends in conflict(war). There is a hint there might be new faction born within Brotherhood this season. It is pretty safe to assume that even if Vault Tach succeeded with their plan, and created a world with vaul-tech bred employees, at some point there would be people who would come up with different ideology and everything would reapet again (Norm as example - individual who is very different then the rest of Vault 31-33). Even Hank saying "the solution is to get rid of the factions" is exactly that - the cycle continuing. "War never changes". The games were always both anti-war and anti-corpo in my opinion. It just does not matter if it's a corporation or country - it's always about fighting "some other faction" because we are right and they are wrong. There are no good factions, everything is grey (which you often see in games, where whatever choice you make, someone will always get hurt). So i wouldnt say that they didnt get the games right in this aspect. And btw - we still dont know if vault tech actually dropped the bombs. It's implied, because Barb said they would do so, if the peace negotiation went through. On the other hand, i think there are hints in the games that the governments are actually responsible fot that, but it is never stated explicitly who actually started it. It has always been a mystery, and we might never et an explicit anwser to this question. Maybe it was China, maybe USa maybe Vault Tech- who knows.

I think while Vault-tec dropped the bomb, they blamed it on Russia.

I really liked your discussion throughout this series! I personally don't think Vault-tec dropped the bombs though because of their stock prices or whatever, but because they have this twisted idea of how to save the world by being completely in control of it. I think what Max said sums up what the show is about best- "everyone wants to save the world, they just disagree on how."

Could be that America was so dysfunctional by the end that private corporations had enough power to corrupt politicians and take over technologies as revolutionary as cold fusion. Also, I think you missed the end part of the stinger where a sign actually says 'Welcome to Vegas'

They showed two locations with cryopods. That suggests cryo technology exists beyond just vault 31. I don't understand why so many people are hung up on the "mystery" of how Moldaver is still alive. We're either supposed to assume it was through cryo, or it'll be revealed later that it was achieved in some other way. I don't think it's an important "answer" if I'm being honest.I'm more interested in how Wilzig knew all about vault 33. I think that will be explored in the next season, only if to utilize Michael Emerson more. (Flashbacks obviously)

My third time through and I'm still picking up things I missed. I love it. Also, who is the mysterious guy in the shadows at the fat-cat meeting? And who did his wife receive a message from on the pipboy right before her monologue? As far as what the series is about, I thought the show left it more open to interpretation, but I see your point Nerdy. Do you think the show tricked us into caring for three very different anti-heroes? I wonder if even Lucy is more anti-hero than hero, despite her cheerful attitude and our desire to laugh at the situations her ignorance brings to the audience. What solidified this for me was her flippant oopsie attitude, "I've only been here 2 weeks and look what I did", regarding the acid in the face incident. Dane admitting that they put the blade in their own boot throws a little wrench in this idea though, so I guess we'll see next season how Maximus handles his new position in the Brotherhood.

I really loved your talk at the end. I don't want to spoil anything about the games seeing as you haven't played them, so I'll make this as general as possible. Some/most of the fallout games have some pretty similar themes to the show. Most of the people I've seen complaining about the anti-capitalist messaging not being native to fallout are the same sort of people who fail to see the critic of modern Libertarianism within the Bioshock games.

Great talk at the end. 😊
