Holy crap dude. "They were able to get the log up here??!! Sure, sure, okay, why not..." This is the stuff people are talking about.
The reason they even went to Sky Island to begin with:
A ship fell on them and their **log pose started pointing to the sky**.
The reason they left Jaya (Island) so quickly was to **prevent their log from setting to Jaya** (Island) and pointing to the **next closest island (or strong magnetic field) ** on the Grand Line.
Jaya (Island) seems to have a particularly strong magnetic field associated with it, making the pose set more quickly. This varies from island to island.
**This is how log poses have always worked.**
When they spent time on Sky Island, **their log pose set quickly** to Upper Yard, which was **part of Jaya** (Island) originally.
Now the log pose is pointing to the next island based on the position of the 'CumuloRegalis' cloud carrying Upper Yard while the log was being set.
If a log in the Blue Sea can be captured by a Sky Island in the White-White Sea...
It logically follows that a Grand Line Island on the Blue Sea can also capture a log in the White-White Sea.
They are equivalent.
There are no constraints put on the effective distance of logs, probably because they are compasses, which are global navigation devices.
Large distances are baked into their function.
You let these misunderstandings of basic, well communicated and established features of this world take you further out of immersion, makes you pay less attention, which makes you miss even more things, which further contributes to the loss of immersion.
You're **expecting** things to not be consistent, despite them being more or less perfectly consistent throughout the story.
This is likely not being made any better by the fandom's reaction, which is probably making you dig your heels in even further, especially after reading completely unhinged takes from people who aren't actually articulating their points, yet are holding their subscriptions hostage.
**This is why I'm taking the time to say all of this.**
Hopefully you can forgive the fandom their communication issues.
I'd recommend possibly doing another video after where you've taken more time and maybe checked out the analysis of someone like Daniel Greene or Murphy Napier on Youtube.
They are bookTubers, and have similarly well-received reactions series to the manga. They can point out some things that you probably missed in the show.

By the way, not gonna lie, I had much the same opinion of the flashback when I watched the show for the first time, and I skipped it the first few times I rewatched the show. I've watched the first 600 episodes or so sequentially more than 20 times, and certain blocks of episodes far more than that.
However, I didn't have access to the community like you do to contextualize things for me. A community that's pointing more and more to that flashback being hyper-important.
I don't know if you know this, but One Piece was originally planned to run for 5 years. By this point in the show, Oda had already set up everything needed for the ENDING. Every single instant of this arc was extremely important.

Yeahhh Pagaya is probably the worst one after Pell in my opinion.
Some slight trivia: the reason Gan Fall said to Wyper "I like pumpkins" is because that's one of the plants that Noland introduced to Shandora, and thus Shandora introduced to Skypeira. Gan Fall probably intended it to be a point of connection, but Wyper took it as his colonizer coveting his home. Does seem like not the greatest delivery there, Gan Fall.
I will say... the short little interludes/setups like Jaya are going to continue to not disappoint.

I am here for your honest, authentic reactions, whatever they may be, as long as they are interesting. And so far they have been. Do I find it enjoyable when you enjoy the same shit I did? Yes. But that's not why I'm here.
As long as you keep making One Piece reaction content, I'll keep watching.

So you want to see Eneru land on the moon?
That adventure was shown on the cover pages of later chapters in the manga but not adapted in the anime. Here's a spoiler-free version with the chapter titles removed:

weird desync thing with your reaction and the video shown on screen, fyi.
I think one of my favorite things about Skypiea is looking back on it and being able to recontextualize it with things you learn in the next handful or so of non-filler arks.
I will say that it does feel like things do slow down and continue to, but I kind of feel like things speed up again after the time skip, or maybe i just enjoyed the filler/flashbacks more, who knows.

Your opinion can't be "wrong". Am I occasionally disappointed that you don't resonate with certain things the same way I did? Sure, a bit, but to expect you or anyone else to share my exact feelings about every single episode is ridiculous. I enjoy your reactions and your takes on things, and I look forward to every new drop. I plan to keep watching until you catch up or give up.
If you don't believe me, I'm even looking forward to your reactions to G8, even though it's filler and I hate it
