If anything it's going to be Caitlyn's never ending need to track down Jinx, that will discover the "other dimension" Powder. They didnt show that she had a huge sack of the same crystals Ekko used for nothing.

Sure, there can be fates worse than death, but it's not like we got any of those either. And usually a story that's willing to go that far will also incorporate death, would be kind of weird not to.
It's also not just about the frequency of the fakeouts, but the manner in which it's done. Even if a story has only one fakeout but it was strongly implied that this character died, complete with flashbacks, and fit narratively, only to reveal later on that they didn't actually die, that's terrible writing.

Ya but it's lame because they used a fakeout death to get us there. Totally undermines the emotional weight and gravity of that death scene. Might as well bring Isha back while they're at it.

I would quibble with this a bit since the worst thing that can happen to a character is not death, so stakes can be there. Agree that faking death too often makes death specifically lose its weight.

Which is true, otherwise there's no tension. Especially when you do fake outs, that makes it even worse.

What bothered Nerdy (I have the same issue) is a common problem with most series. You introduce some amazing characters and you get invested in them (season 1). Then you present a world ending dilemma that is the sole focus of the series going further and have little to no character development or agency.
Season 1 had some amazing character development with every single character. It’s about Zaun and Piltover, the wealthy and the gutter, the oppressed and the oppressors, actions and consequences. Every character had to deal with what was happening and dealt with it differently. They had to come to terms with the consequences of their actions.
Season 2 was all Caitlyn killing Jinx while Madarda getting the power to get hextech and ends with Viktor trying to make everyone perfect. No one had to deal with the consequences of their actions. Those that were “evil” were killed, and that was it. There was no responsibility, and no real regrets and no accountability. That was why Season 2 fell short of Season 1.

Nerdy just has a thing for killing off characters. He thinks the only way a story can have stakes is for named characters to die.

You can't negotiate in the face of someone willing to go to the lengths her mother did. If she didn't evolve into being a mage, she would have been sidelined this season.

The 250 million budget did not pay netflix but paid riot games for the production and marketing. Netflix has nothing to do with the production, it all comes directly from Riot Games. One season is said to have cost 60 to 80 million in animation production. Animation is also extremely expensive and time consuming. It took over 3 years to make the 9 episodes. That's why it sometimes feels a bit rushed, because they wanted to tell a lot but didn't have the production time to do it.
The rest of the budget was spent on marketing, music and other things. Christian Linke, one of the co-producers and showrunners, said they have been working on the series at Riot Games for 9 years and are currently developing other series as well. Netflix is just one platform that offers the series, you can also buy the first season on Blu-ray.
I can understand your opinion about the second season, but personally I think it's even better than the first season. For me, it's definitely a 10/10, but you can also tell that the second season is much more for League of Legends fans because there are so many easter eggs and story elements that are directly related to the game. The producers have said that the series was made primarily for fans of the League of Legends universe and has been fantastically well received by the fan community. And outside of the fan community, the series has also been well received.

NGL I wish Mel hadn't had being a mage become her whole identity. Her gift has always been persuasion, if her story had been about returning to rally Piltover and Zaun together, negotiating an actual amnesty/independence for Zaun instead of them getting ONE SEAT ON THE COUNCIL. *throwing things around my mind palace*

I think you misinterpreted the "fate" thing with Viktor and Jayce (no shade, it's a lot of pieces to catch on the first watch).
It isn't that Viktor knew what was going to happen, it was that there are potentially millions of worlds where he gave a different rune to Jayce to try to break the cycle. It wasn't until he gave Jayce the acceleration rune as a child that it resulted in Ekko being able to create the Z Drive with it and allowed Ekko to stop Viktor in his tracks long enough for Jayce to show him the truth of what future he was creating. When he said "Only you could show me this." he meant that specific Jayce out of all the worlds that were created was the only Jayce who succeeded in breaking the cycle.
I absolutely hate that they basically abandoned the anti-apartheid narrative in order to have their war against Viktor and Ambessa.

The studio and Riot wanted to have it both ways with Jinx's death because canonically there are lots of other Jinx interactions in other regions that they would want to play out. For the purposes of this story she is dead, but for the purpose of future series she can be alive.
The evidence:
You can see a pink streak away for a single frame just before the grenade explodes.
Powder's first line in the series (besides the song) is "One day I'm gonna ride on one of those things".
In Ep4 the first time we see Powder is on an airship.
The airship we see flying away at the end is the exact airship from episode 1 that powder was admiring.
Obviously Cait looking at the air ducts in the schematics was her looking for reasons why they didn't find Jinxs (or Vanders/Warwicks I'm betting) corpse.
In the version of the ending where Jinx survives, she fakes her own death so that Vi will finally move on and allow herself to have a life.
I can see why it would be frustrating that they're kind of retconning the death, but I think given how long it will be before we see Jinx again, it may as well be a permanent death even though they gave themselves an out.

It does feel like they did rush it but also to add, it's kind of a tricky thing if you look at half the league characters it's almost impossible to include them without adding characters like Viktor.

Christian Linke the show's co creator did say. ""Arcane is just the first one. We're working on a bunch of new projects, a bunch of new stories from across the different regions and characters of our IP, and some of them are actually continuations of character stories from Arcane ." I think they didn't do a good enough of job of communicating that this isn't the end of the storyline for Zaun and Piltover. This is the end of the Arcane storyline (Viktor).

I do like how Ekko is the savior, not any of the other characters that had significantly more screen time. He didn’t have to come back. He chose too

So about that, in season 1 episode 1 Powder says "one day I'm gonna ride one of those things" when they were on the roof and this season ends on a shot of an the same airship.
