One Piece Ep 262 Full Reaction!

One Piece Ep 262 Full Reaction!

I think the Six Powers are actually a really good thing narratively. In a world where so far they have basically made most powerful characters devil fruit users, introducing the Six Powers as a way for regular people to get stronger if they trained hard enough introduces the possibility for characters that try hard enough and have enough physical talent to keep getting stronger even without a devil fruit. If anything the implication of the Six Powers lets regular people sort of keep up which in turn lets Oda get super creative with Devil Fruits without having to worry about whether the ideas he comes up with are too strong

Yah, I was worried about the power creep when I first watched as well. And yes powers do get ridiculous eventually - but that's part of the fun of a Shonen! I think it's mostly handled pretty well, and I think later down the line the 6 powers are actually a good example of how Oda keeps things in line. It'll be fun to see what you feel in another 800(ish) episodes.

Oh, the Six Powers are achieved through insane training. Very few people would go through that shit, just like in real life: Ain't nobody wanna move heavy shit that often and long. Getting all Six Powers is even crazier, that like being a bodybuilder, a professional climber and proficient in four other profressional sports at once

I think some fights are won not because our heroes are more powerful but because of some advantage (like Luffy being rubber against Enel) or by using their cleverness to beat the enemy (how Nami and Usopp usually win their fights). Let's see how you will feel about the fights that are about to come and I'm especially curious how you will feel about the power scale in like 3 arcs. I think there you will get a better idea of the Straw hats current power level.

How do we find someone stronger indeed haha

There is a set limit for power. Aokiji is one of the top powerlevels in the show. That said, we haven't SEEN his full power, because why would we? Luffy and the crew were nothing to him. So yea, of course there is always a stronger enemy for now. Our guys are ok strong, but in the grand scheme of things weak still. However, there is a "level 99", but we still in the 20s

I'm current with the manga; never felt DBZ power fatigue from One Piece.

The powers will make sense don't worry

Berry

I feel we have seen instances of powers similar to the 6 powers, like mihawk with his shockwave attack

Reminder to not watch the new Opening on episode 264 it has many spoilers.

The thing about powers isn't really all that true, though. Most enemies in One Piece get their strength from their fruit power or training. Crocodile was incredibly powerful, and he's literally an 'early' villain. And yet I have no doubt Crocodile would beat most enemies we've seen up to this point. So I'd argue that One Piece already took care of avoiding the Dragon Ball problem of "there's someone even stronger waiting."

Gistradagis

Power levels do get insane but not is a ridiculous kind of way, Oda expands the world and makes the powers part of his story. The powers never feel dragon ball like to me IMO.
