One Piece Ep 263 Full Reaction!

One Piece Ep 263 Full Reaction!

Comments

You might wanna read my other comments during skypiea, especially after the flashback. I was a bit too relentless and kept rehashing things a bit differently each time. I feel bad I pretty much guaranteed that I never get a shout-out by being extra auti-... myself lol. One thing I'm pretty proud of that puts Skypiea in perspective (and doesn't get brought up often) is the fact that Enel never once approaches the strength of a standard, ol' fashioned Earth-sourced lightning bolt (300 million volts on average). Enel, AKA 'EminEnel: Partial "The Real Dim Lazy" Blathers' only got up to 200 million volts at the final confrontation at the Golden Bell.

Very good explanation. I always consider the SH to be on a level of a basic squad in a Army platoon where as in terms, the CP9 guys are at a level of Green Beret or seal team 6 with a little James Bond thrown in. Based on what Nerdy has seen so far, it pretty clear, CP9 member have crazy abilities with alot of government training while the SH looks a lot like the Gilligan's Island crew to be honest.

I totally agree with what you're saying for a normal show. However, a few points for the current situation. People saying that the straw-hats are currently weak are correct. The thing you have to think about is scale. One Piece takes place on a gigantic world, relative to its inhabitants. For the sake of argument you can assume that it's several times the size of Earth, and this is something you would have some inkling about if you were a manga reader at this point. In a large world where such strong people can exist, and normal technology and weaponry is only effective against the weakest characters, the thing that scales **_has_** to be individual strength or strength in numbers. Strength in numbers gets a bit boring, and with such a big world, numbers aren't enough to realistically dominate it as the World Government seems to be doing. There's travel time to consider in addition to the insanely dangerous ocean and sea creatures. If characters weren't this strong, people wouldn't be able to go from place to place. They'd just get eaten. Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp and Sanji all come from the 'weakest' of the four oceans, East Blue. CP9 is a government intelligence organization similar to like a team of commandos with martial arts training. They are a force that needs to be able to operate within a certain power regime to account for the variations in individual strength they might encounter on a job, and are assigned as a team to account for strength in numbers. To attain the strength they have, they go through torturous levels training and and are prepared for their role (wetwork) from a very young age. It seems natural for such people to look down on those weaker than themselves, especially those proclaiming to be 'defenders of justice'. As for strong characters not ending conflicts immediately, that's definitely a logical issue, but in some cases characters are so strong that they are limited in the actions they can take, for the safety of those around them. Anyway, going back to the reaction!!

The SH are pretty weak right now. It's no wonder almost everyone is stronger than them. That said, the CP9 members are the ones with the most varied powers by far. Just because it's SIX powers. Hardly anyone has all of them though, so it won't come up often later. Edit: Also, we saw Zoro at least training on the ship. Assuming they travel a few weeks between some islands, considering that it wouldn't be that big of a powerjump every time. We just don't get a montage! Which honestly sucks

BTW- Bluno, Lucci and Kalifa are such good bad guy names!

To be fair, for the SH to get stronger, they have to fight stronger people to grow and figure out ways to beat them. Sometime taking a beating helps them figure it out faster.
