Aw did you miss the Pirate A, B, C joke? That's one of my favorites.

Granny Kokoro got a liver made of titanium.

Highly Educated Trucker

Okay, gotta cook again and get you prepared for some stuff. Let's discuss the six powers, and point out how Luffy has already run across variations of them during his time on the Grand Line. Soru/Shave: Users move faster than the untrained eye can track. Seem to disappear and reappear. Shakushi/Pussyfoot technique: Captain Kuro enters a trance state where he moves so fast he can't control who he attacks. Seems to disappear and reappear Kamie/Paper Art: Users sway like a piece of paper in the wind, avoiding attacks effortlessly. Mantra: Enel, the Sky Priests, and Aisa all have the ability to sense intent, with Enel and the Priests using it to predict enemy movements and dodge. Gomu-Gomu no Daze: Luffy empties his mind and allows himself to sway like the wind, dodging on instinct. Geppou/Moonwalk and Rankyaku/Leg Tempest: Users create leverage or a travelling compression wave in the atmosphere by forcefully kicking against the air at or above the speed of sound. Right-Angle Slash/108-pound cannon/Don Krieg's ship getting cut in half: Characters create travelling shockwaves capable of damaging/cutting through objects at a distance by swinking an edged weapon at insane speeds. Shigan/Finger Pistol: I have nothing for this. It's not that impressive, such that it requires additional justification through world building. Finger strong. Ouchie. Tekkai/Iron Body: This is the one ability that feels like it needs a directly comparable pre-established precedent/framework, but one does not exist at this point. One can argue for symbolic representation with 'Iron Body Pearl' from Don Krieg's pirates, or a literal representation with Daz Bonez/Mr. 1 in Alabasta. One could even point to the real-world 'Iron Skin' technique that some monks practice. But you can rest assured that this will be explained/fleshed out later. That's all five of the rokushiki techniques (Six Powers) that you have been exposed to thus far. Now, considering you've missed an important line in this episode, you should start preparing yourself to be a bit confused at a perceived lack of foreshadowing/setup, but know it's just because you were looking at your phone and don't understand Japanese. Just roll with it this time and remember the main character and their father in the movie 'Wanted'. Much love brother.

To be fair, on my first watch through I never caught it either. The only reason I’m noticing it now is cuz I know. And it irks me that he’s looking away and misses it lol.

Bouwe Feenstra

He's got amazing analysis but terrible meta timing in looking away. He always misses the one piece (lol) of information that's sure to cause the most issues down the line when that bit of information pays off.

Stephen Vaughn

You keep missing every time Luffy makes reference to a “new move” and right before the cliff broke in the beginning Luffy said “should I try it” might be a little different wording in sub, but I have to believe it is similar still

In this episode, Nami is the algorithm Goddess. She was great with her lightning attack. 😤

elysian03

You missed one of the best Zoro/Sanji interactions at the beginning
