Arcane Ep 2x3 Full Length Reaction!

Clarus I missed it too (Grey/Green). I didn't realize it was being released on purpose. I thought they were using the pipes to travel around and opening them to exit both announced their presecnce, but caused the innocent people to flee before the battle starts, saving them. I was also confused why the 3 out of the 5 of the strike team needed plot armor.

Watching the scene, clearly Jynx added the colors to the Grey as it was thrown topside. It was not just some colored smoke, she tossed their bioweapon back topside via reverse engineering the methods Caitlyn was using. That was not a mistake, she was carpet bombing the city.

Just because they don't explain a thing does not mean it was a cop out. It's called showing, not telling, Nerdy. Sometimes you don't need to insult the intelligence of the viewer by explaining every details. As for Arcane itself, I think the entire theme of this series is to show that NO ONE knows the rules. Heimerdeiger HIMSELF says that he apparently doesn't know the rules either. This is ALL unknown territory.

Few things: - I think that The Grey is very heavy, so she did gas Piltover, but it sank back down because Piltover is elevated. There's a child wearing a gas mask at the assembly at the end of Ep 2x3 who seem to be suffering from having been exposed. - The objectives for the "special ops squad" were to capture Jinx, Dismantle Shimmer, Take out anyone still loyal to Silco's group. That last one was basically the remaining chembarons, so the dominatrixes were literally her target. - I am pretty certain if Mel used some kind of ability or magical artifact to protect her and Jayce she would have been in violation of the ethos (basically their constitution). I think they haven't spelled it out for us because it is supposed to be a reveal later. I think everyone punking you for not noticing it is not giving the show or you enough credit.

Regarding "Magic" in Runeterra (the world Arcane is set in) There are a few kinds: 1 - Hextech - using runes channeling some form of stored arcane energy in order to cast a spell. The big breakthrough here is that you don't need to be born with magical abilities to use these spells. 2 - Wild Runes - Seems to be the structure of the world somehow rebelling against being manipulated by Hextech (Heimerdinger speculated these also might also be the cause of why "ordinary" mages spells can result in such horror. So these might not be exclusive to hextech) 3 - Mages - People born with magical abilities, sometimes but not always tied to bloodlines. These are kind of like the mutants in X-Men, they are unpredictable as to who they will be and can be extremely powerful. These are the kinds of magical powers Piltover outlawed. Some mages use runes, but usually to channel their own magical energy, it seems the mage Jayce met as a child was an exception and used rune covered crystals to store magical energy for later use. 4 - Deeper Powers - I won't get into specifics because it could be spoilers for this or future series, but basically there are other very powerful magics in the universe which can serve as the source of powers but are not a part of this story yet afaics.

False surrender, a.k.a. perfidy, is a war crime because it de-legitimizes genuine surrender. The side that commits perfidy is, in the act of surrendering, making a pledge to discontinue fighting. The receiving side drops their guard in good faith and is then slaughtered in an act of treachery. This makes it next to impossible for side A to ever actually surrender in the future, because side B will never trust them again. This will cost even more lives. And side B is unlikely to surrender to a foe that has proven faithless and might as soon execute any prisoners of war as imprison them. Yet more casualties. In the long term it means the likely outcome of the war will not be diplomatic, since neither side can trust the other, meaning the only possible resolution is complete annihilation of one side or the other. THAT is why false surrender is a war crime. And the only reason it "doesn't count" in Star Wars is because the writers were writers and not diplomats or military scholars and knew literally nothing about the rules of war.

I loved this episode, but it also made me so sad. Caitlin was such a good (as in good person) character in season 1. Watching her fall this hard is legitimately painful.
