Can you envision what Pershing or Patton look like in your head? We don't just have statues and photos, we have TV, Movies, and the Internet. People who were around 80 years ago can recognize Frieren on sight. People who were born after the Demon King was already dead, *most people* at best recognize the name, but couldn't put a face to it. And then Frieren isn't the type to either boast about or downplay her identity, which is one of the two directions people would generally expect someone famous to go.
