They did in the first season, Nerdy, they absolutely did establish it that women cannot see male weaves, when Moiraine discussed with Alanna wbout Logain.

This might be TLDR but it's good to hear you're enjoying the show more! I agree with some of your concerns like the compulsion is a bit hard to wrap the mind around. Clarus has some great points about how it could work, like you only really need the heavier compulsion on the people in charge or those he hangs out with a lot like the royal family, but it's still hard to fully understand how he did that. In the books he'd do a real fast weaving that was light compulsion that wore off after a while and he just needed to maintain it a little here and there. I think the fact you don't see him channeling is something the show is doing to subtly show who can see weaves. POV's are hard to do on screen, so I think what they're doing is when you're in a male perspective you don't see the female weaves (think like how that male channeler being chased down by Liandrin in S1 you couldn't see Liandrin's weaves) and when it's a female POV you don't see the male weaves. Obviously there are some scenes where the POV has to switch back and forth a bit, but that's my take on it. Sometimes characters react to other channeling happening, but I think that's more from other cues such as an object being picked up with the power, or an explosion of light, or context clues and body language like when Rand was doing the hand gesture up on the spine of the world. Anyway, hopefully that helps with understanding better what I think they're trying to do there. I do agree it was a bit convenient to have him be able to get away with all that in the Tower. I'd have preferred he not come with Morgase on the trip, but I get having a whole separate time in Caemlyn to introduce him might have taken too much of the show. On another note, did you catch the scene where Faile introduces herself as Mandarb? If not, it's worth going back to check that one out. Super hilarious. Thanks for outlining the things you do like about the show along with the things you don't like, and this time around I think your critcism was mostly quite fair. I also understand it's been a while since you started reading the books and have only read them once so you may be misremembering things like you mentioned Perrin and Rand don't see each other after this for a while. He did hang out in Caemlyn and Cairhien with him in book 6 and try to rescue him at Dumai's Wells, and through the beginning of book 7 before Rand sends him on a mission. Anyway, thanks for giving the show another chance! I'm really loving how many scenes and how much word for word dialogue they're putting in the show. It's not easy to condense such monster books and story into the short amount of time they have to work with.
