Nanami and Yuji get there and the cops are basically like "yeah, looking at these corpses, no human did this and this is out of our jurisdiction". The jujutsu higher ups never liked Gojo but knew they couldn't do anything about him. So he kept doing as he pleased and that resentment kept building up so now that he's been sealed they're basically like "good riddance" and they don't wanna risk him being freed which is why they made it a crime to free him and sentenced Yaga to death as well since he's close to him. That way they can get rid of Yuji and control Yuta as well since they can kill them without consequences now. They know the situation is dire but they basically care more about their politics and assume they can still take care of the problem. The big clans like having the last word on what happens and Gojo was in their way on every level. I don't remember if we're ever given a reason why Japan has so many curses and sorcerers compared to other countries but since it's linked to beliefs it maybe because of the influence of superstitions on the population? I feel like western societies are not as big on that in modern times so that might be why they deal with less curses? idk... In any case I'm super excited about the culling games being animated!
