OH, I forgot to add, Cindry is based off of BanchΕ Sarayashiki, a story about a dishwashing servant named Okiku who's master tries to force her to marry him by hiding one of the 10 plates she was responsible for and telling her to find it, and when she can't, he holds her inside a well (which is why she's introduced coming out of one) and tells her essentially marry him or die. So she hates plates because of that mess.
There are MANY different iterations of this tale but that's the basic plot.

Yah, the pervyness and Absolom combine to make this one of my personal least favorite One Piece arcs. The arc is enjoyable and important to the show overall, but those elements really drag this part down for me. That plus nothing happens.
The humor is top notch tho. Luffy pushing the zombie back into the ground is so perfect.

My favorite of the Inspirations is Dr Moreau

This whole bit is actually inspired by a book called Castle of Otranto. This whole arc is based off of classic gothic novels.

This scene is supposed to be uncomfortable. Toei... makes it sexy. You'll find that's a theme in a lot of inappropriate circumstances

You're not gonna find many people who'll argue with you about that scene being gross. And Toei way oversexualized it as they always do. It was uncomfortable when Oda drew it in the manga, but in the scary way it was supposed to be. The animators, man...I worry about them sometimes.

I actually like the tone of Thriller Bark. After the heavy tone of Water 7, it's good to have the crew go through such an adventure. And at the end of Water 7, you also said that not every arc can be as emotional as Water 7.

I really love that Oda decided to have Nami, Usopp, and Chopper as the first group on the island. Through them, everything seems so scary. But once Luffy's group follows their paths, nothing is scary anymore. Everything is just goofy and a fun adventure.

Luffy pushing the zombie back into the ground is my favourite Thriller Bark scene. xD

There are some controversial things in this arc like the Nami bath scene but nothing happens.

Agree with the over-sexualization of the characters, I don't really like it. And, though Oda does this in the manga as well, the anime blows it out of proportion. Specially after a certain "moment" that Nerdy is still far from seeing.

When you run over 1100 episodes, there's enough runway for the highs to be really high, and for the lows to be really low. Nami's bath scene is probably the lowest of the lows.

One of my favorite parts about Thriller Bark is seeing the contrast between the way the fearless team (Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Robin and Franky) react to the Thriller Bark island as opposed to the way the scaredy cat team (Nami, Usopp, Chopper) do.
And yes, while this does not look like Brook, it definitely is his tone, voice, and laughter. I was wondering if you'd pick up on that.
Personal request: if you want to look things up like the number of episodes mid-show, could you pause it? I personally wouldn't mind you doing that as opposed to missing the subtitles.

Yes 99% of the fandom would agree this is probably the worst scene in the whole manga.π¬
