June 2020 Wrap-Up

With June coming to an end, it is time again to look back at the past month as well as give an outlook on what is going to come in the next few weeks.

At least in the part of the world where I live things are slowly coming back to normality. Concert venues and live events are still in Corona mode but at least recording sessions even with full line-up are possible again in many countries of Europe.

You might remember that a poll about the "advancedness" of the content on here turned out in favour of more advanced content so I tried to dive a bit deeper on certain subjects in the last few longer articles while still maintaining at least some useful information for people who are looking for more basic stuff. You also might have noticed that the frequency of screencasts has decreased. After thinking a bit about these and also looking at their rather low view counts, I decided to save these only for topics that are tricky to discuss in text form and prefer to rather write about everything else. I think there is an inherent benefit in writing about these things as it will be easier to find information again if you want to revisit certain things in the future than scrolling through several videos to find that one information that you're looking for.

Having said that, I still plan to document the composition/orchestration process in video form in the future and was originally planning to do this on a short film in April which obviously got canceled due to Corona.

However, I will be writing the score for a short film in July. It will be only a chamber line-up that we will record in August but I think time will allow me to share the actual process of writing the score for this one so unless things turn around for the worse regarding the pandemic again you should be expecting a composing Vlog in the near future. Of course all the multi part tutorials will continue as well and I will keep posting multitracks and score sheets.

Looking at the growth of this site, we pretty much stalled this month which I hope is not due to the content but rather due to the pandemic or that we simply reached the "potential" for such a specific outlet. However, if you know anybody who might be interested in the content on here, I of course would be very happy if you directed them here.

Other than that, I can only once again thank you all for being my Patrons! I hope you enjoy the content on here and see some valid return for the money that you invest.

Stay safe and healthy!

Robin
