News on Patreon Taxes.
Added 2020-05-28 16:24:27 +0000 UTCApparently starting on July 1st, Patreon will start charging taxes to patrons resident on specific countries, as it has been happening already with European Union residents since last year, I believe.
Apparently it has to do less with Patreon as a company and more with more countries starting to tax online payments to big companies such as Amazon or Netflix.
They have a section to talk about the subject here. This article should be enough to clarify most of your questions.
They say most patrons will not see major changes in their pledges, and when they do, they'll be notified explictly. But I encourage you to read the article if you want to know more. I'll make sure to forward your questions to Patreon too if you prefer it.
Even if this isn't something in my control, I apologize for the inconveniences this may cause. And thanks beforehand to those that decide to keep supporting me, even with this additional charge on your monthly pledges. I'm honestly trying my best to create content worthy of your amazing support!

2020-05-29 21:21:05 +0000 UTCwell, I'm still going to keep my pledges even if taxes will increase the price. I enjoy the content that creators put out, ABD especially. The content is great and I like the art. In short, I'm going to supporting, even if it cost a little more.

Sadly this is something I won't be able to change, even if I created a mirror account on another site such as SubscribeStar or similar. But I'll personally try to find a better way to deal with this in the future. Maybe adjusting tiers and such.
