A Fully GREEN Base! // The Ultimate DeathWorld Challenge #27

Hi all :)

Although there is no recap in this episode, I still wished for this episode to be longer, and contain the full base conversion, but it may grow too long for that. I planned another full day of editing on thursday, but that got taken away by an unexpected trip to the capital for some bureaucracy business :/

So, I'm not sure yet if this will be a full episode in itself. especially the first 4-5 minutes took a long time to edit, as those explain concepts not really covered by anyone else (that I know of) before. The 2nd part of the video is a bit easier, and except for the new oil stuff, most of the rest of the base conversion is expected to be easier to edit as well.

If it all (the video above and the rest of the base conversion) fits in under 30 minutes, I'll make it one full episode for the yootoobz. In that case I'll just release ep1 of the side project next week as a standalone, to have an "ep1" not be overshadowed by an episode of the main series is not that bad actually. But I expect it will be 35-40 minutes total, so spread over 2 episodes.

EDIT: warning, rambly section coming up

Anyway. I'd like at some point to share with you more about my private situation, and how it's all changing. To summarize, there's an awful lot of things going on in my life right now, and all of my free time is going in these videos for the moment. Keeping the series going is my first priority, as I meanwhile know it's a weekly highlight many people are waiting for at this point. But I feel I'm not giving enough back to YOU all, the people who actively chose to support here on patreon. I can't give too many details yet, but as it stands, it looks like my chaotic life will settle down and become more regular and predictable from april/may 2023. At that point in time, I believe I will have time to implement a regular, pre-scheduled stream once or twice per week. I'm thinking about streaming a multiplayer playthrough with patrons, as well as a "casual" space exploration playthrough, stream-only (instead of edited vids), while text and/or voice chatting with whoever of you is watching (chat patreon-exclusive). I'll probably be using twitch for that, as there I'm still a nobody and it does not matter what kind of content I put on there. Around april/may 2023 is also the time I will decide about ditching the day job and going all-in fulltime, or keep the day job as a backup. If the holy youtube algotithm keeps loving me, and most of you still are here around then, I'll go for it. Sorry for the lack of paragraphs, this was kind of a blurt out the words which come up in the mind kind of thing. It's been bothering me for a while now, and while I feel I still really didn't reveal any personal secrets, I'm glad I got at least something out. Thank you all for your support, even though I'm not as socially active as I'd like to be still.

Enjoy the vid,

Michael

I've been following your channel since Biter Island. Your content is fantastic; it's high quality, well-paced, well-edited. The way you solve problems and do creative challenges is really fascinating and admirable. You know how to tell an engaging story through the way you play this game, and I'm really impressed with how you improve your content with each video. The current series has consistently been the highlight of each week for me. Thank you so much for doing what you do, and taking the time to do it well. I sympathize a lot with your position. I'm also going through tough times in my personal life and it makes it hard to take advantage of really cool opportunities. I want you to know that we, your audience, support you and your videos no matter the timescale. Good things should not be rushed or pressured, and we understand that you're a human being with a full life outside of what we see. Keep being awesome and working on yourself, and we'll be patient. <3

Glad to hear you want to keep the series going as it is my favorite series of Factorio that exists right now...But don't burn out by consuming all your free time. Sometimes to make the best 'new' content you need to let yourself have a rest so don't forget to take care of yourself in these times. Good luck on your trip and hopefully its less annoying than would be expected of anything related to 'bureaucracy'.
