Hi everyone :)
I must admit I'm having a hard time editing the first episode of the ultimate deathworld challenge. It doesn't turn out to be suitable for my normal editing style with text-overs. I've switched over to Talking Mike, but since I'm pretty noobish with voice-overing, I've started over a couple times until I had something I only mildly despise... Still, it feels like it will be boring to continue a detailed playthrough in this way.
I may do a less detailed edit and summarize the whole playthrough in just 1-3 videos or so. But then the "did he REALLY play fair without cheating"-factor starts appearing, which seems important for a challenge of this caliber. I don't know. It may be better to livestream it all, but I can't livestream for at least a couple more months, probably.
Anyway, the video in the "tiltle" is part of the sideproject I was talking about. These are a lot of work (I have to brute force this, code some sequence and camera angle, load the game and see if it works and the camera is right, adjust the settings and try again, rinse and repeat until it's perfect for recording), but these are actually quite fun to make and experiment with. I've got two parts finished:
And part 0 which was another experiment with Talking Mike. I like the talking style for this series, but on the other side it runs through the fun/details too fats. A full version would probably encompass all menu screens and variants in a single video. (warning: was not meant for release, audio recorded with laptop microphone)
So, that's what's mostly been going on behind the scenes this month. I haven't publicly released any of these videos / ideas on youtube yet (so please don't share the videos/concepts)
Thank you all again for your continued support, and feel free to give any feedback, tips and other comments to get me out of what almost feels like an "editor's block" (I have the ideas, but how to present them lol).
All the best!
Michael
