Which Higurashi character should sink in quicksand?

Gonna explore the horror genre in Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni (When They Cry). I remember quite a few gruesome scenes in this series, but nothing that involved quicksand. Though if I recall, there may have been talk about Rena's mother being lost in the swamp in one episode.
