YouTube removed my Newpipe tutorial on how to watch YouTube without YouTube

I received a community guidelines warning. Next time it will be a strike and I won't be able to upload for a week. If I get three strikes, my channel is out. This could get serious.

YouTube removed my Newpipe tutorial on how to watch YouTube without YouTube

It would be interesting if it was just a simple website with the videos. There are all types of hosting services online/vps hosts, . You can even pay in crypto for them https://hostingrevelations.com/best-anonymous-vps-hosting/ https://reddit.invak.id/r/Monero/comments/sc7wex/deleted_by_user/

I am not a huge fan of Odysee but I am more and more inclined to just suck it up and go for it.

The Hated One

What about using odyssey as a backup?

Will

Youtube has total control over you in every way. They decide what you can and cannot share and they control who sees your content. If you had your own cloud storage solution (AWS Bucket) that you own and then had your own website vs. using social platforms like YouTube, Patreon, etc. then you are 100% in control of your messaging/content and the way that you ensure people see it is via the newsletter reference that I mentioned. I can elaborate more if needed.

Jose Vanduka

How would an AWS bucket allow me to own my platform any more than YouTube? I am looking for a solution but I want to dedicate to one that is actually resilient.

The Hated One

What about setting up a simple AWS bucket with HTTPS access and hosting your videos in folders? If you host your own website and drive traffic to the site, regular users would be able to see your videos that are stored in your AWS bucket and embedded into your blog article. Bottom line, I think you need to own your platform vs. being controlled by YouTube, and even Patreon for that fact. You need to be building an email list that is your number one asset because then you can communicate directly with your audience and stop being controlled.

Jose Vanduka

I hope you are uploading to alternatives.

BasedSephiroth

Gab is just as centralized as anyone else. They also censor political content they disagree with. But you are right about the "better than nothing" point. I gotta find something soon.

The Hated One

I am not a huge fan of being on Odysee yet. I might reconsider though.

The Hated One

Get into gab.com, they have the least dependencies to third parties and fair moderation. At this point or specific situation the phrase "Its better than nothing" had to sound good. Odysse is also fine.

Chiller

Did not see video. Any chance of uploading to Odysee?

André Hugo

Yea good point but its only a backup if it goes away next month so what depends how much u think ur YT channel is at risk & Rumbles been around a bit there are others you could choose like brandnewtube or odysee, a lot of creators I follow at risk of shut down have their backup channel there, they also usually have a second channel on YouTube too :-)

Chris Newham

I am not too sure about Rumble. I feel like it's one of those unicorn corps we've had in the past so many times that are just looking to get bought out and shutdown first thing in the morning after.

The Hated One

Music to my ears but get hooked up on rumble first cos they gonna strike ur ass for sure if u do that lol

Chris Newham

Yeah they just suck all around. But fuck'em. Now I am gonna make a serious of content on how to de-Google everything.

The Hated One

Yea wtf but on the other hand we know the social media companies are dicks so the reasons shouldn't be read too much into they just wanted any excuse to stop u hurting their ad revenue.

Chris Newham

Yeah I don't see how that video is "dangerous or harmful". I am afraid to appeal in case it would make them double down and start giving me strikes which could result in my channel getting deleted.

The Hated One

Yeah I can see that too but they flagged for dangerous or harmful content. Wtf?

The Hated One

Currently, Bitchute, but that platform is complete trash. YouTube wants to be Disney. That's the thing. They want extra-safe, non-controversial content that doesn't have balls to say anything. Everything has to be a Marvel movie or it doesn't go.

The Hated One

Get on rumble as a backup like many other creators do just in case you lose tour channel. I love newpipe but I can see while google might not be too stoked on that video lol.

Chris Newham

Is there another platform as a backup? They of course are controlling you and don't want you publishing videos because they are controlling bastards!

Jose Vanduka

WTF?! That video changed so much for me: my first steps in deGoogling and watching without ads...
