Apple fanboys in crisis moral gymnastics no longer justifies their cult
Added 2022-11-28 16:27:01 +0000 UTCI for long pondered the cultist behavior of Apple's customer base and am always appalled by their quick action to justify any and all behavior of their beloved brand. I don't think there is anything Apple could do that would make these people distrust or criticize the corporation.
I have seen Apple users justify child slavery, atrocious labor conditions, mass workers suicides, predatory monopolistic behavior, anti-competitive practices, patent trolling, over-charging, consolidation, anti-consumer behavior... There is no other brand or company that enjoys this kind of cult following. Their user base is so sectarian if the CEO of Apple told them to venture onto a private island and drink cyanide juice, 50% of them would probably do it. I am not sure if I am joking about that last one.

I am only a psychology hobbyist. Some of the best professional psychologists and sociologists are employed by big tech companies which is part of the problem.

Many people are so deeply trapped in their ecosystem that they cannot either imagine getting out or they are unable to pull out the deeply embedded implants. 2. Some people are innately religious. Even if they gave up the bible god, they want to adopt another. Apple has filled this void for them. Tech will save us is a deeply held value. 3. If you ever saw the fight scene in They Live, it demonstrates how people do not want to see the truth and will fight viciously to avoid it.
