This is very true. Many ads are also outing deeply sensitive info, e.g. sexual attraction, pregnancy, health issues, etc...

A family member of mine who frequents online support groups for alcoholism is regularly served targeted ads for liquor delivery services.. and their experience is sadly not unique. The internet advertising industry is truly heinous.
