This is disturbing

I have recently reviewed my exit surveys of Patreon supporters deleting their tiers. I wasn't sure what to expect but this wasn't it. This screengrab is just a small selection, but I was overwhelmed by how many patrons had to leave because of their financial situation. I totally understand it, but it is truly heartbreaking.

I preferably wouldn't ask for any support but I don't have any other financial means to sustain this work. My YouTube revenue is down to around $300 a month and I have no sponsors or affiliate links.

I want everyone to be able to access all of my content. I haven't had the confidence to make this podcast completely public. But I am strongly considering doing so so that people can easily listen to the episodes without paying or pirating.

What is your opinion on this? I have been trying to entice supporters with different perks, but also don't want to cut anyone out. If you shared my podcast with people who can't pay, I wouldn't mind.

Thanks to all of you still supporting. And let me assure that if you are in any financial difficulty, take care of yourself and your loved ones first! Don't worry about leaving my Patreon page. I am already eternally grateful to all of you!

You might be able to take the URL of the podcast feed and use it in your podcast app. It should work.

I would say that if you are trying to make a living off your content, you might have to expand your offerings. You could create a course which walks people though being more intentional with their mobile devices, provide services for people who need help with this so you can interact with people directly, ebooks are another option. I think creating a podcast that you release to the public would be great and tie in a Patreon page for slightly more content as well. I’ve seen some content providers release their podcast to the public but have extensive show notes and ask me anything podcasts only to subscribers.

It would great if some of your podcasts went public. For me personally, patreon UI gives me a little bit poor experience and I would like to "stack" your podcasts into a bigger playlist to listen on my phone. But of course do what you think is best for you, that's only my small opinion :)

So long as you keep up these high-quality videos. I could care less if the podcast was made public. The more that people hear, the better. Honestly getting more ears to your voice might help your financial situation. I know you have issues taking sponsorships, but honestly you seem rather extremely aware of the issue sponsorships present (which is a rather relaxing "thing?" to see) that I think you might be alright

Same counts to me, I will try to support you until I can no longer afford it at all. Also I would be completely fine with make it public because it would help more people to discover you. Also I read the idea about a e-book or something like that, I think this would be a cool thing. Like Windows/ Linux / Android/Communication or internet guides. I mean a lot of people like the Extrem Privacy Book of Michael Bazzell (its definitely cool) but his guides are not that good for european standards so maybe a more country independent book/guide would be cool. And these are definitely hard times, I also know a lot of people who live at the border of being poor because of covid and the changing financial world. Thanks for your content x3

Maybe you could make a e-book(pdf) with “tips and tricks” about privacy and sell it. Just an ideia.
