Big pile of content

I've got so much stuff for you all today.

First, you'll have noticed the image set above. I did some tweaks to the newer Efa model and gave her ladyparts. So what better way for her to celebrate than to let her test them out?

If you want to get the set, they're all in here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CgLcrf2MmRiLtAkP9N6L2S4fpj9bwN2w/view?usp=sharing

Second thing, I did another Nick and Judy animation. I was trying something out, I feel it wasn't successful, but it was still a days work, so it's getting released anyway.

You can view it or download it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/175iNHkYZ6p_WNrCf190gkboamY1CuRyr/view?usp=sharing

Or online here: https://e621.net/posts/2739506?q=user%3Amethodia_rascal

Finally, I'm not sure if I mentioned that I've been working on animation timings by creating pre-vis renders using Viewport rendering, which lets me cut, edit and choose exactly what I need to complete and render without sinking a lot of effort into something that might get cut anyway. So I've uploaded the previs animations for the next Episode of The Wilderness.

BIG WARNING - if you don't want things spoiled, don't watch these. If you do want to though, feedback is welcome on these. The text is going to be in the regular style when I properly render. These clips are also the final pre-vis ones, so they've gone in for the edit. I didn't bother with the failed ones which then got tweaked and rerendered.

And just in case anyone thinks I've just been doing this all week, I've also managed just under 30km of trail riding this week. 18.9km on wednesday and 10.5km saturday. I was going to film those, but I forgot the GoPro. Oh well.

I can respond to a few of the points! 1) I forgot to do the Efa shoulder thing. I've tweaked Kyns walking cos he was throwing his arms backwards and forwards way too much, so he is toned down a bit, but completely missed Efa. I will put this on the buglist and redo the final render for her walking bits if I have time. It's only an 8 hour render, so if I have a night with nothing ready to render, I can get it running overnight. 2) I agree. For one thing, the trees are all 90 degrees from the angle of the ground, so there's some trees in there at a weird slant. I think I know what's going on with them, because there should be 4 or 5 different tree types all within a randomised range of sizes. Not sure why it is only showing 2 of them at the same size. The flythrough is one of todays jobs. I might shorten it like you suggest. I was going for a longer shot to try to show how big and far away the obelisk is, but then the trees around it sort of throw off the scale.

Oh heck, that set looks very nice. Zero-G is a concept that doesn't get a whole lot of love due to the inherent physics questions involved, but static images don't have to worry about that! I appreciate the moisture from her parts clinging to the thighs as it'd most likely do in space. The parts themselves look good as well, and apparently quite malleable, heh For another quickie, I think that NickXJudy has a really well-done hip-to-hip connection and momentum transfer, and Judy's expression conveys a lot. Wow, who would've thought we'd go into space when we first started guiding Efa down a river, haha! I think it looks good, those long shots will be worth the effort, I feel. The pans around Efa/Kyn and the ship commander show off the environment gracefully. I did note a small number of things that stood out to me that may or may not have made it into the final cut: (My bad, I didn't see there was a newer post and that the first 40 seconds was rendered. Points 1 and 2 are moot, not worth the effort of both fixing and re-rendering!) 1) Efa's shoulders still move a little more than usual for a walk, as though she's throwing them forward and back. Not sure if that's something you can alter at this point 2) To me, the terrain flyover from Efa/Kyn to the Obelisk is a little... plain? I like the idea of following the contours, but some variation in tree height or the texture of the mountains could spice it up. Alternatively, you might stick with the terrain for a shorter time, then turn directly to the obelisk and pick up the speed since it is a fairly lengthy shot as-is 3) When we reach the top of the obelisk, the camera is rolled with respect to the floor of the ship we eventually enter, Obviously it flattens out later, but you may consider flattening it earlier (again with respect to the ship's floors) either when you exit the obelisk or just before entering the ship. It works as-is, but is vaguely unsettling. If that's intentional, then ignore everything I just said! 4. The explosions at the end likely aren't final, but I'd be wary with their intensity and/or bloom. Light is indeed less filtered than we view through atmosphere, but it was hard to see the commander and the solid intense color guided my eye away from it. Overall, a solid pre-vis, I think! Glad to hear you got some trail-riding in. Those distances would be hard on city streets, and you did it over trails! Sounds like quite the workout; shame about the recording. but pobody's nerfect, haha!
