Here we finally go!

What's New?

So much stuff. The highlights are:

This has been several weeks of working on making the game more playable and a bit more fun to show roughly where I want to go with this game. For one thing, normally in this kind of game, you're just prey to the enemies. Now you can fight back and prey on them as well.

Can I share this?

Yeah. This is the Patreon advanced release, but it will be going live to the public on saturday, so even if you don't share, everyone else won't have long to wait.

I've been playtesting features as I go, and there are still some bugs, but unless other people find major issues, this should be the version that goes out on saturday.

I found a bug...

Great!

Well, obviously not great, but pause your game and hit the "Report a Bug" button to submit a report. If you can grab a screenshot or even video of it then even better. All bug reports will be looked at.

Coming from a Software background, it's nearly impossible for the person who made the thing to find all the bugs. You know how things are meant to work, and it can be tough to do the things that will actually break it.

It's like a skilled cakemaker making a cake. They might try to push the boundaries of the cake by going "what if I add 50g more butter?", but they'd rarely consider trying to substitute the butter for mashed potato to see what happens. Analogies are fun.

What's next for the game?

Basically, this could be the end point of the game. I've put together a roadmap for features that you can find in the Main Menu, but it all hangs on the assumption that there is enough support to see it continued. In this context, "Support" means both Patreon and people interested in seeing more of it. There's not much point in a game if nobody actually wants to play it.

To get to this point has take just over 2 months, and the roadmap is probably a couple of months per Phase as well. It's a lot of time to dedicate to something if it's not a thing people want to actually play, so I'd rather stop development and work on something people might actually like.

But wait, the game is missing X...

What's that? You've found a feature that I've stupidly missed and is really obvious? Hit the "Report a Bug" button in the pause menu. There's a feature section in there as well!
