Patreon Stability: Please Read

Hello Patrons,

I'm here to remind folks that we have a Patreon alternative at Subscribestar, in the event that something happens with Patreon. Overall, Patreon's been having some issues on the back end and now there are more issues that could potentially cause us problems.

If anything happens to Patreon, we're still over there and have been for a while now. I've recently updated all the tiers to match what's on Patreon -- except for the $500 tier, since Subscribestar maxes out at $100. Not like there were a ton of people that used that one, but it was certainly a nice surprise from time to time.

So what's the concern?

TLDR: Patreon is now responsible for funding the legal expenses of hundreds of arbitration cases, individually, due to California law and their own terms of service preventing class action suits, this was all back when they were removing accounts over political disagreements. As we don't go into political stuff here, it's not a point that's up for debate. The point is, they're in a financial bind that could bankrupt them and put the site's future at risk, and they sorta shot themselves in the foot. If you're interested in more information on all the ins and outs of this legal mess, it's an easy google search away, just look up Patreon July 2020 Lawsuit and you'll find plenty of videos and articles.

I'm making this post just in case Patreon goes under, or changes ownership to those less friendly to what we do. I'm sure there will be more alternative sites that are adult friendly. But really, I've preferred Patreon. It's been the best website for crowdfunding and I'm really loathe to move people over unless it's absolutely necessary. There is still a week's wait between payment and link delivery on Subscribestar because they hold money until it clears.
