Studio Update Part 1.5 – Hardware Crash & Recovery

We’re back online after a MASSIVE, borderline catastrophic hardware failure on our main production machine. It’s been a harrowing few days—but the good news is that we’re already back in action and resuming production.
Why We Recovered So Fast:
Thanks to some redundant backups across all studio systems, none of our project data was lost. Every project is safe and secure.
So, even though the main PC is toast (RIP), I’ll admit that I was only ever partially satisfied with that rig anyway, and it was long overdue for upgrades.
Right now, I’m working off an off-the-shelf Dell.
It’s more modern than the old machine,
Doesn’t sound like a jet engine,
And most importantly, it’s working.
Current Status:
Unity is back online
Flash is back online
All project files are safe and intact
It runs a little hot sometimes, but here’s the kicker…
We’ve got six of these machines and a server. So we’re good.
A Huge Thank-You
We owe this fast, almost painless recovery to an amazing donor who arranged a massive hardware donation a while back. If we hadn’t had that support, this situation could have been a complete disaster.
So—thank you again. Seriously. You saved our butts.
I took a bit of downtime afterward because—let’s be real—this whole thing was fucking exhausting. But it was 100% worth it, and honestly, we had no choice but to power through.
I’ll continue refining and building out the new system, but for now: we’re back.
