Update post Kips and Musings
Added 2021-03-23 13:41:09 +0000 UTCHi everyone! Just wanted to write a little about what's been going on this side of the screen of kipland. Mostly my thoughts about writing and planning process, so if you're interested in that here goes!
Rest of the FNN pages are already done so I dedicated this week to taking care of loose ends and preparing and planning for the launch of the new comic. Today is a boring day as I'm taking care of filing my taxes of 2020 and managing all the icky business side bureocracy things that no sane person should have to go through. Blargh. I thank the heavens every day that I can make a living drawing chubbos instead of working as an accountant.
So yesterday I worked on finalizing the script for the next comic. Still missing the name but I got a couple options. Going to decide between them if I don't come up with a better one. Characters all have names but locations are a bit hazy.
I seem to work better with visual information so I made a mindmap-ish photoshop file of the whole thing and while the plot is quite linear there's a lot of side-plot and character relevant material that I will either have to shove between the plot or dedicate it's own time to. I'm trying to keep the beginning as focused and concise as possible. Hopefully that will work out and people don't get bored before things start really rollin, but the 3 pages are there to compensate for that.
Character chemistry works really well in my head, I'm pretty excited to begin drawing! Character designs finally work, they've gone through a dozen revisions as I just couldn't get some aspects to work. Still concerned that their color scheme might be a bit too similiar but most of the comics gonna be in black&white so it's not that big of a deal lol. Might make some changes along the way and it's not like they will wear the same clothes all the time.
Also looking at options to print Full Night Nanny! There's a good affordable printing place in Estonia (who will likely allow lewds) but I'd have to go and physically pick up the prints myself and Estonia has like the worst corona situation of europe right now... probably going to look further into spring regardless as I'm very busy atm and if people want to buy a copy I'd start sending them out during summer. FNN is easier to print due to page count than NLB so I can possibly mail them as letters and not as paperweights... Need to design a cover picture for the comic and edit a print version, that's gonna take some time. Also looking into making a dakimakura of Cindy for those who want one. There's a couple decent sites where I could sell the design as I don't wanna bother shipping them myself. Cindy art for the cover would take a couple days if I do front&back. Maybe I'll hold a poll of what kind of pose people would like to see for that.
Once new comic starts I'm gonna have to do some proper illustrations of the characters too. Can maybe do one or two a day but 3 pages means I have to use at least 2-3 days of the week for those, depending how fast I can make them. Hopefully I can draw enough buffer to keep the comic updating smoothly if some pictures take more time than others.
Really would like to make some merch but unsure as to what people would like. Mugs? Shirts? Pins? It would be something like the feather-ears symbol or silhouettes of Cindy, Sydney, Kat etc. if they were on a shirt. I got cute design ideas but haven't really gotten on it yet so that's also on a to-do list.
Also need to try and do some art practise on the side. SO many things to do gahh. Sometimes I'm almost thankful for the rona lockdowns as I have more time to focus on things as there's nothing else to do anyway. All things considered pretty happy with how I did in 2020 under all the stress of the apocalypse. Got my work cut out for me for 2021, been really happy about how patreon's been doing. Lots of feedback and I feel very involved in this community. It's good to know people are having a good time. I won't let you down!
This post was very rambly and just thoughts oozing out of my brain so hope you don't mind that. At least this is what I've been up to! Hope all of you are safe and nice and looking forward to the new comic!

I didn't think of it until now but you're probably the best thing about 2020. I'm surprised you had very little interruptions, very thankful for your work last year. On mouse pads, I know diipoo will adjust to whatever photo you send. I'm sure you could contact them with your need and they'd adjust since they make them custom. Worst case you could do a boob one of Cindy where she's got a mouthful of lasagna, or a Guy Fieri Kip one. XD

2021-03-23 16:33:18 +0000 UTCThis was an awesome post, thank you for sharing how things are going. I’m so glad you’re feeling fulfilled doing your art. And you have so many ideas for new creations! I love hearing about how you develop a story. So for the new one, the script is done, but you’ve also made the visual map which includes some “side” bits that don’t have a place yet in the linear flow. So those are scripted but undocked, in a sense? Can’t wait to see the story begin and learn about these new characters you’ve been working on. It’s really cool hearing how you’re thinking about it. Quite different from FNN, which was utterly mysterious and that gave it a kind of aura. But in this case hearing how you’re thinking things through just builds hype for what is bound to be a much more ambitious undertaking. And it’s awesome that the mega popular Cindy is living on in these new forms. The cover illustration and other new stuff would be fun! Speaking of new Cindy stuff, what would you think of doing a few very short (2-4 page) Cindy stories, when you can find time? Obviously would have to be much faster paced or abbreviated narrative style than your usual slow burn. I’m thinking something very comical and lightweight that gives her a chance to binge, with a simple setup and payoff. Like, she’s doing a job maybe, but there is some food temptation, and she starts to sneak bites here and there, and then before you know it she’s eaten everything and somebody comes in and goes “Cindy noooooo” I feel like Cindy is the kind of character who could work in that format. But what do you think, does that hold any potential for you? Was thinking a couple little stories like that could be a fun bonus for the back of the print edition as well. Nice to know you're doing well on the other side of the world despite the current situation of it all and, glad that us paterons are actually making a difference for you and making this into an legit line of work of sorts. Gonna be sad to see Cindy go so soon 💔
