If an owner can help a star or superstar player make money outside of the nba or nfl to have more flexibility in the cap space, be sure that they will call their connections to make outside financial deals with those players to compensate.

Money is the root of all evil. These people never have enough. It's just that at some point they choose the glamour once they do not want to just win chips anymore. They want a fun night life and a place where all the women be throwing pussy at higher rates due to the area being full of rich men. I actually don't think the owners cut cheques under the table. It's just that star players can make up some of the difference being in glamour markets, and depending on certain state taxes. The money is SO much now that at some point quality of life/market supercedes an extra 30-40 mil guaranteed when you already are rich.
