Fyi I am more offended by Notre Dame mascot, Florida Seminole chief oscala, and Illinois mascot. Due to the fact they are often depicted as white people. The Irish had Peits, and Picts and Gaelic speaking so called black men, Seminoles were mostly a confederation of black tribes that fought viciously against former president Jackson. If you want to learn more about the Jim Crow period there is a Museum at Ferris State University. They have books on things like Gator Bait along with a history of Jim Crow in Advertising of Products here in the US. From the 1700s to 1960s. I always tell people about the gator bait. It is the most wicked act a human being can commit. The bloodlines that come from that act must answer for it since their ancestors didn’t.
