We are very excited to present you with our first challenge, a SELF PORTRAIT!
From today FEBRUARY 12TH to MARCH 31ST we will be accepting entries of a self portrait either drawn, painted or sculpted in any medium!
Send a high resolution jpg to social@florenceacademyofart.com. Please include your full name, the size, title and medium of the artwork, and feel free to include a short artist bio, we want to learn more about who you are!
One winner will receive an ART PRINT, and a personalized critique by an FAA Principal Instructor sent privately via email, and, along with the two runners-up, will receive shoutouts on The Florence Academy of Art and The FAA Collective on social media! Winners will be announced April 10th by email.

Self portraits first came into fashion in the Early Renaissance, and have been part of the artist’s oeuvre ever since the mid-15th century.
At The Florence Academy of Art painting a self portrait is an important project for third year students! During their careers graduates and faculty regularly draw, paint, and sculpt their own portraits to keep practicing and testing their craft in a variety of mediums with themselves as the model.
