General Updates (Itch and Haven)

Hello everyone.

As some of you are aware, I use itch.io to host my games.

They have recently taken steps to restrict access to adult games.

Itchio - What happened?

Basically a few weeks ago payment processors (MasterCard/Visa) threatened Steam (the game platform) about disabling their accounts if they didn't stop selling certain NSFW content. Steam folded and delisted some adult games.

The next week, they did the same with itchio.
In case you don't know, Itchio is the main platform for indie games, and where basically all my games are hosted.

From what I understand Itch's response was to hide all adult games from their platform, and only remove some of them if deemed "unacceptable" by whatever standard they decided to use.

Itchio - What does this mean for you?

At the moment they have only taken most of my games out of their search, but the games are still there and playable.

It sucks because they are harder to find for new players, but it doesn't affect your access to the games. (As long as they don't make more changes).

When it comes to Haven, I'd recommend you export your save games to files just in case we end up having to move to a different site.

Itchio - UK Specific.

New UK laws made it so adult content requires you to have to demonstrate your age using verifications, and apparently itch is disabling the dev pages completely for those users.

From what I heard the game are not affected at the moment, just my profile page that has all the links to the games, if this changes I'll see what can I do).

I will see about making available the game links directly somewhere in Patreon and in Discord at least.

Haven - Updates

Ok, now let's talk about something else.
As you probably noticed, I released a small game idea (Taxi) so I won't be release a Haven update this month.

I will probably try to have this approach every now and then, where I get a bit more time to do Haven content.

Here is an update of some of the characters I made for the next update:

You might recognize some of them from the Auris setting I created for ManCandy.
If things go well I will have the next Haven chapter done by next month.

And that's pretty much it.
