Alex, your lesson reminds me of 10 Cloverfield lane which I feel goes completely against your lesson. I always feel the ending is that movie’s biggest gripe, that it’s so different than the rest of the movie’s tone. 10 Cloverfield Lane and Ex Machina would make an interesting compare/contrast study.
