Patreon Updates & New Tiers!

Hello, patrons! Today we are updating our Patreon with new rewards and tiers! Here’s a quick FAQ to explain the changes.

What are you adding?

I’m glad you asked! We’re adding two new tiers: “Livestream Q&A” at $5 and “Film Club Video Chat” at $10.

During a monthly Livestream Q&A the team will answer questions submitted ahead of time in a special Q&A post. There will also be a live chat room, so you can participate during the Q&A as well. Afterward, we’ll make the video available for anyone who couldn’t make it.

The Film Club Video Chat is a group video chat (on Zoom) with the LFTS team and patrons from all over the world!  We discuss a movie we’ve all recently watched, which is a fun way for us all to get to know each other a little better!

Both of these go into effect as of June 1st! The Film Club Video Chat will (usually) happen on the first Saturday of the month and the Q&A will (usually) be on the third Saturday of the month.

Is anything else changing?

Before, the $2 tier’s monthly patron-exclusive came in two different forms: a Q&A or a bonus episode in our usual format. Moving forward, the $2 tier will consistently get a bonus episode in our usual format, along with the opportunity to vote for the movie we discuss.

We’re adjusting the Q&A episodes to be available at the $5 tier and making them a livestream event.

Are some of these rewards the same as on the Lessons from the Screenplay Patreon?

Yes. Both of the new tiers ($5 Livestream Q&A & $10 Film Club Video Chat) are available to LFTS patrons as well, so LFTS patrons will be present at these events.

So, what if I want some of the rewards from both? Or all of them from the...er...yeah, what exactly does this mean?

First of all, that’s very generous of you! We designed the rewards so that if you do want ALL the rewards we offer, you can get them without having to pay twice for anything. To explain:

The rewards that are unique to either LFTS or BTS patrons are only found in the $2 tier.

So if you want to get ALL the rewards we offer, we suggest pairing a $10 tier from one Patreon with a $2 tier from the other.

For example: The $10 tier on LFTS gets you all the exclusive LFTS content as well as the Q&A and Film Club, and the $2 tier on BTS gets you all the exclusive BTS content.

Is there a reason to support one versus the other?

The main difference is the frequency of the billing. Beyond the Screenplay is a monthly pledge, LFTS is a per-creation pledge and there will be months in which we release multiple creations.
