Patron-exclusive 🎃 : The Thing (1982)
Added 2020-10-30 16:24:54 +0000 UTCOur October patron-exclusive is here! We had a lot of fun talking about The Thing and its unique blend of horror and Agatha Christie-esque construction.
Also, we’re only 20 patrons away from reaching our next goal and beginning our deep dive into The Lord of the Rings!
Thank you for voting and supporting Beyond the Screenplay, and we hope you have a fun, safe Halloween!

2021-11-28 01:47:01 +0000 UTCIt is definitely louder and not comfortable to listen to on earbuds or phone speakers which don't have good balancing in the eq. When you combine that unfortunate reality with a tendency to raise one's voice and interject a lot, it makes the physical experience less comfortable. This is something that a good podcast audio engineer or editor would be able to fix though. She routinely has some very inciteful commentary and I don't like it when I feel the need to stop listening because of avoidable ear fatigue
2021-11-28 01:46:08 +0000 UTCIt was strange for me to listen to an objective assessment of The Thing. For me, it's one of my favourite movies and a perfect example of what it is. It's inspired me as much as Star Wars and Alien/Aliens. It was good to take myself out of my comfort zone and listen to others' opinions on it.
2021-06-02 18:31:25 +0000 UTCThat's perfect thank you! Just to be clear I'm not trying to attack Tricia. Her opinions are amazing and I really missed her on The Dark Knight Rise podcast a while back its just the audio with her in particular is a little hard on the ears compared to you fellows. Thanks for listening - Love your show
2020-11-11 22:29:16 +0000 UTCI just had our editor adjust the levels on this episode and re-uploaded the file, so hopefully that helps. To be fair, the rest of us also just have lower voices, and I'm certainly not known for projecting energy through my voice 😜, so perceptions might be more dramatic than reality. —MT

2020-11-11 22:13:04 +0000 UTCI've noticed this too but think it's a mic issue? Sometimes Tricia is louder than the others which can be jarring when you're listening with headphones. Maybe turn her mic down a little or have her shift a little far away from it so it doesn't peak as often
2020-11-11 21:03:24 +0000 UTCI voted for Fury Road (before listening to this)....yep you got me
2020-11-11 21:02:17 +0000 UTCPlease tell Trisha her opinions are amazing but that girl needs to stop screaming in the podcasts. Just watched the V podcast but my goodness she needs to lower herself
2020-11-07 17:35:29 +0000 UTCOveral, I think the film would have been improved already if they had taken out the flying saucer bit in the beginning, So you don't it's about an alien or anything. Predator has the same problem (addressed in Patrick Willem's video). I can't wait to hear your analyses, it's truly a unique movie.
2020-10-31 07:28:50 +0000 UTCI _did_ tell you exactly what was in the picture, so you can't really blame me if you still clicked 😂

2020-10-30 19:15:38 +0000 UTCThat’s awesome! Hopefully we do the film justice in your eyes. While I had some issues with it, it truly is unlike any other film I’ve seen which is really impressive. —MT
