I just want to jump in with my two cents - it's Billy's baby. Not only are there discussions about Colin's problems in the bedroom, her choosing not to respond to him at Billy's funeral seems to further drive this home. I actually have a suspicion Colin is a closeted gay man who acts towards women the way he *sees* Costello act toward them. I think this is why we watch Costello make comments about the bodega owners' daughter in the prologue, why we see Frank slip a porn magazine in with the groceries he buys him, why he makes so many comments about the firefighters during the training montage, etc. Colin is insecure, and in many ways wants to be the man Billy is (but he can't be, it isn't *who he is*) and Billy is secure, but wants the job and status Colin has (but can't, because it isn't *who he is*). I think there's a fascinating duality explored in the entire movie, with Damon and DiCaprio's characters being sort of opposites circling around the same love interest and mob boss. I. Love. This. Movie. (And Beyond the Screenplay - thanks for the great discussions!)
