The awesome and varied score, which notably employs pieces Philip Glass composed for prior films (Powaqqatsi (1988), Mishima (1985) Anima Mundi (1991)) alongside original compositions both by Glass and obscure composer Burkhard Dallwitz—plus an extended Chopin sequence.

2022-11-14 15:36:43 +0000 UTCWhat do you think about the very last scene of the movie undercutting the emotional impact of the finale. Or that the very last moment introduces the idea that “what if everyone watching doesn’t really care at all.”

2022-11-09 15:09:58 +0000 UTCIn its better moments, 'Don't Worry Darling' felt like it had the potential to be an updated Truman Show. Could you discuss how the world building and pacing in The Truman Show added to the plot twist and effectiveness of the storytelling in a way which has been attempted since but never matched

2022-11-04 15:58:07 +0000 UTCObviously deleted scenes don't "count" in the canonical text of the film, but I'd be interested to know your thoughts on those. They're really fascinating, but I can see why they were cut. Oh, and if you can speak to it, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this movie pre-empting the "live streaming" era, especially with Justin.tv beginning a decade later. I'm always so struck by the cutaways to the people watching, and how those little stories change over the story, so it would be nice to hear your thoughts on that too.
2022-11-04 15:33:34 +0000 UTCThis film is one excellent case of the audience knowing more than the protagonist at all times, so maybe discuss that technique in screenwriting and why it works here?
2022-11-04 13:27:33 +0000 UTCAsk why this endures and something like EdTV has not. Analyze story wise whether there could have been another cathartic ending that could have been just as satisfying. List all your favorite things about Jim Carrey.

2022-11-04 12:35:36 +0000 UTCHow does it hold up now considering most of television 24 years later is "reality" over "fiction"?

2022-11-04 10:51:38 +0000 UTCDo an in-universe critique of Christof’s storytelling and cinematography (and overall concept)- if you were a viewer of The Truman Show, how do you think you’d feel about this project as a piece of art?
