Calm, Cool, and Grounded
Hi Subscribers! Jeane here. There are some things in life that I don’t like doing, but are a "must" — such as going to the dentist or filing income taxes. Before I even start on the venture, I have already told myself how awful this experience is going to be, and how miserable I will be. I become anxious and edgy, making the experience — and myself — miserable.
One day, it dawned on me that my thoughts were based out of pure fear and past negative experiences. I calmed down and began to release the fear that was causing the anxiety and negative thoughts. I was then able to handle those tasks with ease.
We have the ability to stay calm, cool (in peace) and grounded in every situation. We calm ourselves by recognizing our fear, and by recognizing the source of our fear. We ground ourselves through meditation, and by connecting to the Divine Universe and to the earth.
The cool or peace is in having positive and "Higher" thoughts about the outcome. It is not unusual for us to be afraid, anxious or scared. However, we can choose to not let it control our lives. We all have tasks that we don't look forward to doing. But remember that it is our attitude that can make it a new and different experience each time with positive results.
