plans for next month

so, thanks to everyone who's signed up to be a patron so far. i figured i don't want to leave everyone in the dark until next month when charges start.

first of all: if anyone could lmk if there's a specific method they'd like to notify them about new patreon posts, it would help. i'll probably make notices on my twitter or tumblr with links to the posts, but that's on a live feed, and not everyone checks their e-mail. so it's whatever is most convenient for you.

besides that: i've been thinking about what i want to do for the $15+ dollar tiers. instead of trying to do larger comics on the side, i think it would be better to do flavor comics-- small comics like the ones i did for new years-- every month.

i already went into the specifics of how long a 30-page comic like up-to-date would take if i did them simultaneously while i work on drop-out. i feel like it wouldn't be such a great pay-off to wait that long for a complete story while paying money for it. meanwhile, small scenes like those can add a lot of depth to larger stories (originally why i started referring to them as flavor comics) while still having some closure to them. i have a lot of basic plot summary ideas that i've been writing down for a while in a separate document for these kinds of comics.

currently, i'm scripting a flavor comic about bailey, rain, and dallas watching a movie, which, ideally, would be done at the beginning of june, but i'll say it's going to be done within the first 2 weeks of june instead. that'll be available to everyone in the "early comics" tiers, and then released publicly at the beginning of july.

for the following months, i'm thinking i'll have the flavor comics relevant to scenes that are happening in or have happened in drop-out. for example: there's a scene later in drop-out that expands on the relationship sugar had with her cousin mentioned at the beginning of the story. there's also 2 flavor comic ideas in my document about sugar at a family get-together with said cousin and one where she talks about gender and dysphoria with them. everyone could vote on which one they'd rather see, and that's the one i'd put out next month. every comic like that would be available ~a month in advance from everyone else, though.
