Took it to school show and tell. Then it got confiscated by some white woman teacher and exactly like Jordan, took me to see the elder who then gave me back it back to me after she left.

2024-10-18 01:27:24 +0000 UTCMy accidental racism school story. In year 4 a kid move to Australia from the Netherlands, he was dark skinned. My friend group befriended the kid, anyway a couple weeks in, we were playing dragonball z or some shit. The kid started to act like a monkey, scratching his head and moving along the ground all hunched over and started chasing us. We started to scream "Monkey Boy, monkey Boy!" The teacher on playground duty saw us yelling this. By the time she came over the kid stopped playing. The bell went and 4 us boys got detention, letters home to parents and never understood what we did wrong because he was acting like a monkey in a game of pretend. Wasn't til I was like 22 that I understood it would of been seen as racism. The kid barely spoke english, like me, I doubt he understood the implications of racism but I guess his parents did and the kid moved school weeks later.

2024-10-17 07:58:07 +0000 UTCWent to Leyland Brothers World the same time as Mislav did.It was just an eatery how he described it.Didn’t get to see it at its prime.As a kid at school I went to Old Sydney Town in the late 80’s.The flogging scene (with a whip) that convicts endured was scary and looked quite realistic as a kid.I revisited it with my now wife during the early 2000’s.The same whipping scene we saw,the convict took on a very “camp” role and was not selling the blows the soldier was delivering.Instead of screaming in pain,he had this S&M thing going on.
