I'm really enjoying this feeling that Lola is intentionally and symbolically clearing the air. Letting go of the cigarette butt without looking back, leaving the unpleasantness of the smoke and the last topic behind, shutting it out to have room to breathe and focus on something new. It's also really interesting to see the expression in their eyes being consistent between the pairs, both being sincere and uncritical. It's not very often that we see a consensus between Lola's public and private expressions when talking with Sugar, less so that we see a look that doesn't say "I can't believe I have to deal with this". Anyway, that's it for this week's lecture on Drop-Outology. Feel free to see me during office hours if you'd like to hear more.
