possible change to the $15 tier for 2017
Added 2016-12-09 15:31:10 +0000 UTCfor the new year, i'd like to make some changes to my work load on here, mostly to make it more feasible for me.
currently, i fall short mostly with my side comics and how quickly i produce them. so that means people in the $15 tier are getting the least for the amount they pay.
so i thought i might change the reward for that tier to either early access to side comics, Or a sketch request similar to the $25 commissions, depending on the agenda.
between that, or just downgrading the quality of the side comics to make them faster to produce, that seemed like the better option to me. it would be more personalized rewards for anybody in that tier, but it would give me time when i need it to maintain a healthy schedule (sketching 13 requests is still much faster than ~50 fully rendered panels a month).
main difference between the 15 and 25 dollar tiers, then, would be quality. 15 would be simple sketches of only one character, whereas 25 can be multiple characters with color/shading. i don't know yet if i'd make the requests for $15 patrons compoundable into larger requests like $25 can be.
that's probably what i'll go with, unless there's any complaints, just to keep everybody updated on that.

thank you for the feedback! i've definitely considered it, but it's a little uncomfortable as an idea because it's such a drop in craftsmanship. maybe i could sketch 2 comics and have them voted on which should be rendered instead of just voting which comes to fruition, or maybe i could try to figure out which kinds of plots i would be alright with leaving in the sketch phase. for the new years comics, i can definitely experiment with it, since, you're right, the purpose of them is mostly to develop characters who are already getting full color work.

I can understand why you wouldn't want to canonize work that didn't feel finished, though.
