this page took a bit longer than usual today because i decided to try some experimental shading in this setting.

i feel like what makes it hardest to connect with my father is that our senses of humor don't line up often, if at all. also, always get the urge to ask that question, but i've never been so bold as to ask mine.

I like the specificity of 19 months. It could just be awkward literal-mindedness from Jason, or it could be that narcotics defined his life so much in that time that he counted every moment, much like how AA folks know every day of their sobriety. The ambiguity is nice, but from the way Jason’s speech bubbles crack i’d guess the latter.

the shading on this page is super pretty *o* im also really digging the last panel, the words being in the smoke really give off the impression that Lola wants to disguise how interested they are in the answer / disguise why they're asking in the first place.
