this comic turned into something very long and challenging (i've been working on it on and off for about 10 days now). by the end i was very frustrated - my version of paint tool sai had recently started to give me an error that says i don't have enough memory to open it, when i clearly do.
i downloaded the 32-bit version, which opens, but my license for the program is for the 64-bit version, so it opens as the "demo" version, which doesn't allow me to save files larger than 10,000 pixels (i'll admit this is pretty generous, though).
so i had to move around a lot of panels and snip them to squeeze enough pixel space to fit the last closing bit of the comic.
still, overall, a visual i've wanted to do for a while. i wanted to include a rainbow mushroom cloud, etc. for this, but i figured this was "good enough," as it had already broken several rules i have for sketch comics (no coloring, only one panel per row, etc.) to keep them from becoming another thing that eats up a lot of my time but was originally intended to be quick and easy.
it was a visual i've really wanted to try to portray for a while now, and i knew the likelihood that i'd get to show the "euphoria explosion" in a more serious comic format was around zero, so.
also a rare copy-pasta from me... i didn't want to draw that tiny stopwatch over and over, but i did want to experiment with including it to show a rough amount of time that the dissociative process takes under stress. this was something i hadn't included in the first sketch comic izzi appeared in, so it was more ambiguous how long, exactly, she'd spent making faces in real life (which i thought added to the comedic effect).
also, reminder: if you were in the $25 tier, please remember to drop your pledge down to 15, unless you wish to keep it above the amount that you need to. the tier has been deleted.
