this strip is chronologically placed slightly after a very early folie a dupe comic where dupe talks about being unable to understand other people while gray tries to make a smoothie, and fairly early into their transition, both of which can be deduced by the spikes on their face and lack of wings.
been wanting to resolve the "dupe hates art" arc for a while, but wanted to do it only after the events in the palette test strip were published.
