i was streaming my work on this for my wife, and she noted she thought that bailey's mom would get angry at what bailey said in panel 2.
her "trigger" actually tends to be being told she's wrong, or at least perceiving she's being told she's wrong.
in panel 2, bailey doesn't necessarily argue with what she said previously, but in panel 4 they're directly pointing out hypocrisy in her statements.
it's noteworthy, but bailey's gender was her choice, and the notion that bailey is a different gender than the one she chose is also implying she made a massive mistake. something to keep in mind about her motivations as a character.
side note, but i've gone back and started adding navigation to these comics again.
no one necessarily requested it, but it was irritated to try to navigate to find a page for myself, so i could only assume it was probably like this for other people, too.

I've had a very very similar conversation w my mom like this before so it's Relatable, also i gotta say my mom tends to do the opposite, she'll slam on the brakes and pull over when she's mad

2017-12-01 03:22:56 +0000 UTCI like how the "fluid reasoning" of Bailey's Mom here parallels the multiple justifications Bailey cycled through on the previous page. Pretty hard to win an argument when the grounds it's based on keep changing.
