I went and reread some of these because I saw your post about your favorite panels. Reading these strips always make me feel a very visceral reaction, even if I've read them before. I always start pacing around. Thank you for writing these, I love folie a Dupe stuff

2018-08-05 06:41:36 +0000 UTCI find this really interesting because, externally, Liron/Trist is portrayed as being very invested in appeasing others, molding themselves to be what others want. You might assume they'd be the same internally (i.e. in their interactions with Dupe), but of course if you're appeasing and 'submissive' (sorry, can't think of a better word) to abusers outside, trying to be an 'ally' to them to avoid harm, you naturally have to be harsh and cruel to "yourself", at least the parts of yourself that go against what you've been taught needs to be done to keep you (all parts of 'you') safe. It's also interesting to see the different modes of anger/attack - direct confrontation ('I should put this fork through your pretty blue eyes' 'DISGUSTING!') vs blame/'self'-deprecation ('Why do you always push everyone to their limits?') Really looking forwards to part 2 haha.
